Project Life Storage Solution

Well, progress is being made on moving into my new studio! -Although right now it's at the stage of looking like a craft store exploded and I almost want to quit, I will preserver through the chaos and focus on what I hope it will look like, and most importantly function like when it's finished.

As I began to clean out my temporary art cart that I used when we were in temporary housing, I gathered my Project Life supplies and the current working binder I'm using (I'll switch everything over to a pretty black scrapbook that will match my other scrapbooks when I'm finished working on it.) and decided to stick them all in the Stanley Fat Max art cart.

Here's a quick Instagram video I did of how it is functioning...

I love that this cart has so many built in sections and dividers and that it also has some extra dividers you can add in if you need them.  I'll show you each section, starting with the top of the cart and work my way down so you can see how much storage space it has.

Layer 1 has a tray that can be lifted out and then there's a lot of room under it for storage. The top tray I'm using for miscellaneous tools, adhesives, etc. I'm storing my 4" x 6" cards, doodads, and mini alphabets in the hidden storage.

Layer 2, the middle section, is where I'm keeping my 3" x 4" cards. I have them separated in rows by journaling lines, grid, and designed cards.

Layer 3, the bottom layer, is big enough to hold my working album, 12" x 12" papers, extra plastics, and plenty of ephemera!

I think this will be perfect to keep downstairs so I can work on Project Life while watching TV and then since it has wheels I can take it to crops too. It's my perfect organization solution!

I Love My New Shoes!

Earthfootwear_logo_no_border

I love a good, super cute flat shoe! Which made me super happy when the good people at Earth® Brands asked me to review one of their NEW Spring/Summer 2014 super cute shoes from the Earth collection!  Hello, how awesome are these shoes?!

Earth Footwear Butterfly - Grass Green

Now if your thinking um, Erin isn't Earth® footwear those old hippy shoes? Let me tell you about them...they are a modern collection of smartly styled casual footwear, perfect for real women’s real lives. I have other pairs of their shoes and I can vouch that they are stylish and yet easy and comfortable to wear on your busiest days.  Earth® footwear combines contemporary styling with uncompromised comfort to create a collection that brings a refreshing new twist to footwear—letting women look and feel their best when they’re on the move.

Earth Footwear Butterfly - Grass Green - Shopping

For my review I choose the Butterfly shoes in "grass green" (there are 4 beautiful rich colors to choose from...I really like the "red plum" color shown below too). The whimsical butterfly detail makes this ballet flat something I can wear just about anywhere.  They look great dressed up or down and I've wore them everywhere from church to running errands.

Now I have to admit, when I first took them out of the box and saw the ruching on the heal I wasn't too sure how they'd feel on.  I thought they might be too tight or just feel funny, but I was wrong.  Once your feet are in them the gathered section smooths out to hug your foot perfectly and is supper comfy.

These shoes have a premium suede upper and glove-soft leather lining. Like other Earth® shoes they have the secret sauce for comfort...a padded heal to displace the shock your foot receives when walking, extra cushioning, arch support help stabilize your foot, and leather sock lining which feels really good and help your feet breath.

I love it. Not only is this shoe cute, contemporary, and in one of my favorite colors, but it is so comfortable that there is no "breaking it in" period. Yeah, they seriously feel that good...right off the bat!

Oh, and did I mention the price?  The Spring/Summer 2014 Earth® Collection starts at $85 – with the majority of the collection under $100!  It's a great value for a shoe that looks great and is that comfortable to wear!  You can check out the other styles of shoes in the Spring/Summer collection here.

Make sure you go sign up for their monthy newsletter, every sign-up is automatically entered into a monthly shoe giveaway!  Woo-hoo!

ScrapFest Canada 2014

ScrapFest was really fun, but since I was working with Karen Ellis and the gang from The Art House Studio I wouldn't have expected anything different!

Karen made me this nice canvas sign for my demo area in the booth...

Scrapfest Canada 2014 - 2

On the first day I showed them how to use ScanNCut™'s "direct cut" and/or "scan to cut data" features and we cut out some really awesome things out of stencil material and gelli print papers.
Scrapfest Canada 2014 - 2

While I always give people the opportunity to write or doodle their own designs most people don't take me up on it (I don't really blame them, I had picked out some super cute designs that they could choose from!) But this awesome lady was one of the few that did! She was so happy that the cute cat she drew got cut out so quickly! -Love it!
Scrapfest Canada 2014 - 2

This stencil design was one of the popular choices to cut too.  I'll post how I created the design soon and then you'll be making up bunches of your own stencils too!
Scrapfest Canada 2014 - 2

On the second day we cut out some of the pre-installed designs with shrink plastic (aka: shrinky dinks) SO FUN! It really took us all back to our younger days.
Scrapfest Canada 2014 - 2

Since I was in Canada, Karen was sweet and got me some Tim Hortons coffee.  Mmmm!
Scrapfest Canada 2014 - 2

I also had a Canadian Oh Henry bar. -Sugar rush! But I so needed it to keep up with all the people that came by the booth!  It was non-stop talking, scanning , and cutting!
Scrapfest Canada 2014 - 2

I took a selphie in front of the photo board before I left...not my best look since I was pretty pooped by then, but it represents a great memory of the trip and gives me a photo to scrapbook when I get around to it.
Scrapfest Canada 2014 - 2

Oh, and it rained while I was there! Boy how this California girl loved that!
Scrapfest Canada 2014 - 2So Canadian friends, if you came by the booth thank you! I loved meeting you in real life! Make sure you keep in touch on FacebookInstagram, or Twitter so I can see all the fun stuff you're making.
