Handmade Holidays - DIY Winter Necklace
Welcome Handmade Holidays Blog Hop Visitors!
Jewelry is such a great gift to give as a gift and handmade jewelry is treasured even more since you put your heart into it! Giving a piece that's seasonal is fun too since every year they will be reminded of your love year after year.
For this project you need:
- Ice Resin
- Small plastic cup
- Popsicle stick
- Beadalon 7 Strand Bead Stringing Wire
- Beadalon #1 Crimp Beads
- 3 Jump rings
- Various beads
- Bezel (the heart one I used was made by Bead Landing)
- Scrapbook paper scrap
- Glitter
- Small wooden spools
- DecoArt Americana white acrylic craft paint
- Ribbon
- Fabric Glue
I like using Ice Resin for projects like this because it's a jeweler's grade resin, so it's dries clear, is naturally doming, self-leveling, and there's NO BUBBLES...that's HUGE my crafty friends!!! Now while they sell this two part resin in individual contains that you can mix (which is great if you're making a bunch of jewelry for all your friends), I strongly recommend getting the one that has a pump so you can accurately squeeze out the exact amount you need of each part, it' makes it sooooo much easier if you're just making a few pieces! Oh, and you can just use the amount you need and place the cap back on to use it later. -Love that!
Ok, here's a video tutorial on how to create your very own necklace to keep to give as a gift:
