There's actually four bows in the set, but one three of them were available when I created this blog post....see all the bows here.

I made a quick video of how the most of the bows go together (I'm missing one), so you can watch that below, or here's a FREE handout to help you assemble them.

Mixed Media Birthday Card

AsteriskReminder: This weekend is True Scrap 4! Don't miss out of the fun! Click here for more info!!

Silhouette Cameo Spray Ink Birthday Card

It's not often that I do mixed media on cards...and frankly I don't know why.  I really should do it!  I had fun with this card!

You can see that I used a bit of spray ink on it...and I covered the over-spray with some washi tape.

I cut the card out with my Silhouette Cameo ("bohemian gate fold card" design) and added some doodling too it.  The teal blue leaf pattern down the side was done in my letterpress using the Petals printing plate and the "happy birthday" text was letterpressed with the one of the printing plates that comes with the letterpress.

I also added some bling, doodles with a white Sharpie, and some stamping on the back side of the card.

Snowflakes

It's finally cooling off here in SoCal, it's even supposed to rain later this week. -I am SO thankful for that! I'm really hoping that the hot, hot summer is behind us because I am really ready for my favorite time of the year...fall!

Most of the year I'm working on publishing editorial calendar which runs way ahead of "real time"...and I'm sure you can guess how fun it is to work on Christmas things in the summer.  ;)  Well, here's a bit of winter to get us all in the mood for season changes...and it may even create a bit of panic that winter will be here before we know it! The snowflake dies I used are part of the NEW Wintertide collection at Lifestyle Crafts.

Don't forget to use coupon code "ERIN" for your 20% discount at Lifestyle Crafts!

Christmas Snowflake Frame 2 - Lifestyle Crafts - Erin Bassett

I grabbed few pieces of scrap cardstock and covered half of them with scor-tape and half of them with foil tape.

I then ran them through my die cutting machine (most of the popular brands of die cutting machines will cut these dies).

Once I peeled off the liner on the scor-tape snowflakes I just poured on some fine glitter . The scor-tape is SO sticky that it works REALLY well for glitter!

And then I just layered them up and stuck a brad through the center of each snowflake cluster.

Doily Rosette Birthday Card

Happy Birthday Card with the Lifestyle Crafts Doily Rosette Die-Cut

This card makes me happy! From the awesome MME papers, to the buttons & washi tape, to the cute NEW doily rosette die-cut I used, it is just happy! I actually ended up making two almost identical card like this since I already had the stuff out for it & I always need Bday cards!

This was my first time using the doily rosette die-cut, and I really like how the perforations made it easy to fold. I've used similar rosette die-cuts by another manufacture before and they were SO perforated that as soon as you attempt to fold it it rips apart. Annoying!! -This one didn't do that, yay!!

Whenever I make rosettes I always mount them on a scrap of paper so that they are easier to add to my project.

Remember how I made two cards?  Well with the first card (shown above) I used two buttons and put washi tape under them so you could see it through the holes in the buttons...plus it tied the colors in too.

On my second card I used some other buttons out of that set and since one of the buttons was a bit boring I ended up adding some Smooch to it to tie it in color wise.  I also such some washi tape under the hole too.

And then I added some of my favorite letter stickers.  I'm almost out of these I use them so much!
