The First Of My "Life Journal" Art Journal Pages

Here's some of my January pages for my Life Journal.

Some, like this first page, are simple and quick.  I just printed out some digi elements and adhered them to the page and then layered some traditional scrapbooking products on top of it.

And then other pages are a bit more...this was just a file folder that I had cut down and added to my journal.

Here's a closer look at some of the details.  For the heart I put an old die-cut negative I have (that I use for stenciling) onto my page and then painted some Mister Huey onto it.  I dried it with my heat gun and then embossed it with a stamp from Unity Stamp Co and then added some fun stickers to it.  {I used the same sparkly white embossing powder that I used in my cute little Valentines for my girlfriends last year.}

And here's a better shot at the journaling.  I used my Faber-Castell water color pencils to color in the letters. I really love the "fun-ness" of that look!

My cute laptop!

You guys know I go to a lot of events, and most of the time I have my laptop with me...and every time it gets noticed.  Why, you may ask? -It's cute!

GelaSkins was nice enough to send me both a laptop skin and an ipod skin of my choice...and I love them. I picked the "my pop" design, but they also let you upload your own graphics or photos to use! I'd love to make one with digi-scrapbooking graphics and some photos, I think it would be really cool to make as a gift for someone!

They were really easy to apply to both my laptop and my ipod and I've had them on for months now & they aren't showing any wear and tear.

Right now GelaSkins is having a buy 3 get 1 free deal, check it out by clicking HERE or on the gaphic below:

Simple Scrapper Digi & Traditional Scrapbook Pages

Here's a couple of layouts I created for Simple Scrapper.  They have some awesome sketches/digi templates this month (April's will be go "live" tonight)!  I used one of them to create a traditional layout...and then another to make a digital layout.

Here's my favorite one...it's the digi one:

BLOG Erin Bassett - SS - Temp1 - Hello-resizedThat's my littlest niece...so cute!  I use a really old (free!!) 2P's digi-paper kit with the Simple Scrapper template.

And here's the tradional layout.  In addition to the Simple Scrapper sketch I used the Remember When April Crop Kit.  For Crop Kit assignments I'm only allowed to use basic scrapbooking supplies and what's in the kit....so challenging!!  I did cheat a bit & used my Distrezz-It-All around the photo...I was in a time cruch & needed it distressed quickly!

BLOG Erin Bassett - SS - Temp2 - Explore -resizedThe die-cut background already had the tree with the owls on it...I just added the 3-D handmade paper flowers and of course a paper ruffle...I love me some ruffles!!

Simple Scrapper Project and Digi-Scrapbook Page

BLOG Erin Bassett - Imaginisce - Enchanted - 4x4 mini 1 I'm excited about a couple of things...

  • First off...I used my Cricut Imagine for the first time to create that tag on the cover of this 4" x 4" mini album.
  • Secondly, I created this project for Simple Scrapper  - I'm creating over there now!  :)

I think this will be a great little mini-book for my niece (4yrs old) to put her pics in.  She just started ballet lessons so I'm sure those would be great!

BLOG Erin Bassett - Imaginisce - Enchanted - 4x4 mini 2

I used January's Simple Pages/Projects to create it along with Imaginisce paper (that princess is from Imaginisce too).

Surprisingly, it only took me couple of minutes to create that tag...granted, I demo'd the Imagine back at CHA Summer for ProvoCraft so I wasn't a complete novice at it.  I just choose what colors/patterns I wanted...and then had the Imagine print it and cut it out.  It made me so happy to create the perfect embellishment for this project.

I also created a digi layout with one of the templates from January's Simple Pages/Projects and with this FREE digi kit.

It was really fun to be able to do some digi stuff...I kinda miss it!!

Christmas Cards

2010 Christmas CardI'm actually mailing Christmas cards this year!  -I used to be so good with doing it and then got too busy and decided to leave that off of my to-do list...but this year is different thanks to these cute photo cards from cardstore.com

They contacted me to try out their services and gave me $25 credit so I dug through our recent photos, found one that I liked, and then went over to their site and in about 5 minutes I was done!  Easy peasy!  The only hard part was finding which holiday card style I wanted to use!  I opted for the 5" x 7' post card.

It took about 4-5 business days for them to get to me, so if you're thinking about trying them out you better hurry up!!  (Oh, and if you want them to mail them directly to your mailing list they will!!)

And, for all you wonderful readers...here's a coupon code for 20% off your first order with them: CSHOLIDAY20
