A Scrapbook Page: Nolie Dog

Before I share my page with you I just have to say that I'm super excited that the True Scrap is filling up!  I'm so happy that so many people are going to join us online for such an amazing event.  The original True Scrap event was so fun and I learned a lot of great things from the awesome teachers.  -By the way, you can still take those classes individually for only $9.99 each.  Such a great deal!  Check them out here.

This round of True Scrap has some great new classes (17 classes to be exact!!)...and I can't wait to hear what Cathy Zielske talks about in her talk.  It's such a great deal too...only $127...that's less then $8 a class...and the classes are taught by awesome teachers such as: Noell Hyman, Renee Pearson, Lain Ehmann, Lisa Dickinson, Kristina Werner, Nichol Magouirk, Jennifer McGuire, Francine Clouden, Nic Howard, Tami Morrison, Aby Garvey, Paula Gilarde, Shimelle Laine, Kelli Crowe, Katrina Kennedy, May Flaum, and myself!

Sign up for True Scrap here before it's too late!

Ok now, onto the layout....

BLOG Erin Bassett - SS - Oct - Nolie Dog

I did this scrapbook page about my dog a few weeks ago for Simple Scrapper...I love this sketch, it's from last month's collection.  And once again I used a Studio Calico kit to create it.  And I finally used some random Instax photos of her that have been sitting on my desk waiting to be used.

And I did use my "go to" techniques on it too....a splatter or two of Glimmer Mist....sewing...you know, the usual.

I also added some fun Smash washi tape that I justs picked up.  Can you tell I'm addicted to washi tape?

Introducing Siblings

Everyone was really excited to see how my niece would react to her new baby brother coming home from the hospital and being able to see her Mom again since she was gone for 4 days having the c-section & recovering.

She was super happy to see Mom...she got a huge surprise look on her face when she saw her...which of course made Mom start to cry and I was doing everything in my power to suck it up and not start bawling watching them.

She was also really curious about what her Dad was carrying in that car seat and was so gentle and timid with touching her new brother.  It was cute to watch!

She did have a bit of a melt down after awhile though...it was past her nap time and she was a bit confused about why Mom couldn't pick her up and what was going on with the baby.  Thankfully she got her nap and they are all now working at trying to help her deal with not being the sole center of attention....overall I'd say it's going pretty well!  (You should hear the horror stories my parents tell of when my brother came home...I was not a happy camper to say the least!)

Again for this layout I used one of the Simple Scrapper September sketches.  Love those! It makes it so easy to get started.  I also the Studio Calico kit "Boardwalk" for 99% of the layout. I think the only thing that didn't come in the kit was the tiny staples and tissue tape LOL.

A Simple Scrapbook Page

Sometimes in scrapbooks I just want to capture a list...like what my almost 2yr old niece is really loving these days.

BLOG Erin Bassett - SS - Temp 1 Sept - Echo Park

I kept the page simple by starting of with one of the Septemeber Simple Scrapper sketches (say THAT 10 times, fast!!) and then just tweeked it a bit.  I used Echo Park's Victoria Garden line of papers and embellishments and some more of those cute Imaginisce heart i-rock studs

A Favorite Photo: 3 Generations

When my niece was out here visiting this summer we had a great time going over to see my Grandma (and her Great Grandma)!

It's funny how the three of us are so similar. We are all creative and really enjoy "doing" and "making." I wish that we all lived close enough to be able to do that sort of thing together more...but hey, I'll take the time that we do have together.  ;)

Here's a scrapbook page I did with one of the many photos we took that day:

BLOG Erin Bassett - Studio Calico - Simple Scrapper - FavoritePhoto

I used one of the August Simple Scrapper sketch for it along with a Studio Calico kit and a couple of other doo-dads I had handy.  So often my layouts use whatever is out on my desk already...I guess I'm either too lazy to dig through stuff or I'm inspired by seeing it...or maybe both LOL.

The "a favorite photo" is a Silhouette shape...I just ungrouped it and cut it out in different cardstocks (and inked the edges of the blue letters) and then adhered it to my page.

Happy Days at Spark

When the design team at Simple Scrapper was discussing print tray projects amongst ourselves for this month's project. I just happened to run across a project on Pintrest using muffin tins and then had the idea to create this:

BLOG Erin Bassett - October Afternoon - Happy Days -Spark

I used photos from last year's Spark No.2...which is a really fun and creative event that takes place in the fall in Utah.  -I think there's still spots open for this year if you're interested.  ;)

I made some of the flat stickers more 3-D by applying Mod Podge Dimensional Magic over them like the gumball machine below.  Here's a photo of when I first applied it (before it dried).  I love how the MPDM flows out of the bottle and forms the perfect dome over what you want embellished.  I let it dry over night, but the bottle says it usually takes about 3 hours to dry....although I'm sure that's dependent on how much you use and where you live.

Oh, and to make my twine go loopy like that I just dipped it into Mod Podge, squeezed out the excess, and then shaped it into loops and let it dry.

I'll have this project over at Remember When if you want to check it out in person.
