Simple Scrapbook Pages From The Heart

Somehow I forgot to share these scrapbook layouts with you!!

This first one is about my niece...

I love scrapbooking the "everyday" stuff of life, like the pretty common occurrence of coloring the driveway with chalk.

I really like how the title turned out.  I used some ancient (and boy do I mean ancient) American Crafts sticker letters for "chalk" and then I took some Faber-Castell colored pencils (my fav!) and outlined and scribbled around it.  Then I applied some rub-on letters for "sidewalk".  Does it look like a 2 year old helped me? LOL!

And this next one is about my dog.  She's getting old.  :(

For those black circles I just painted over a stencil, let it dry and then added the flowers.

I created both of these layouts for Simple Scrapper's January sketch/digi template kit...I'm totally loving the Simple Scrapper sketches/templates, and it's so neat to look at how other people use them in completely different ways!  Click here to join Simple Scrapper.

Scrapbooking the fun stuff!

BLOG Erin Bassett - SS December - Toms

Remember when my girlfriends and I went to the TOMS Shoes event where our shoes got artsy?  Well I saw the photos on my phone a couple of weeks ago and printed them out with my Selphy ...it can do multiple photos on one 4" x 6" piece of photo paper, which I love!  It makes it really easy to just print and scrap without having to tweek the photos in Photoshop first.

So once I saw the Simple Scrapper sketch for this month I knew it would be a great photo to use for it.

I love our shoes.  :)

I also did this layout using another Simple Scrapper sketch and photos I took during Thanksgiving when my niece was out here visiting.  She was dying to bake Christmas cookies together...which of course I was totally up for doing!  We hadn't baked cookies together since she was about 2 yrs. old!!  It was fun!

Scrapbooking more of our Coronado Island trip.

This scrapbook layout was done with another sketch from Simple Scrapper so it came together really easily using a Studio Calico kit and some other doo-dads I had.

BLOG - Erin Bassett - SS October - Outside Breakfast

It's from that same trip we took with my brother-in-law's family to Coronado Island that I posted about the other day.  While it was pretty foggy most of the day, it was still awesome to be able to sit outside, eat breakfast, and watch the seagulls.  As you can see from the photo, my niece really loved her watermelon!

Here's some close ups of the layout:

Scrapbooking our zoo trip

Just before I left for Spark my husband and I were down at Coronado and took a trip to the zoo with my brother-in-law and his children...it was the kids first trip to the zoo!  My niece, who's almost 2 yrs old really liked it and was such a great walker.  When we put her in the stroller to go to the car she feel asleep.  :)  My nephew is about 2 months old and he slept trough most of the zoo, of course.  ;)

I used a Simple Scrapper sketch from this month and some of a Studio Calico kit on this layout along with bits and pieces from around my studio.  You can see my full supply list here.

Here's some close up photos.  If you're familiar with Prima flowers you can see that I ripped some apart and reassembled them differently, adding old school Prima flowers into the mix.

When I put my title stickers down I also stuck down the negative part that's in the center of some letters and then doodled around them.

Also, in other news...I just started doing yoga! Funny thing is that I've tried yoga before and though it was SO boring, but now I must have grown up or something because I'm finding it so relaxing (and yet invigorating) and helpful for all my back issues!

Introducing Siblings

Everyone was really excited to see how my niece would react to her new baby brother coming home from the hospital and being able to see her Mom again since she was gone for 4 days having the c-section & recovering.

BLOG Erin Bassett - SS - Temp 3 Sept - Studio Calico

She was super happy to see Mom...she got a huge surprise look on her face when she saw her...which of course made Mom start to cry and I was doing everything in my power to suck it up and not start bawling watching them.

She was also really curious about what her Dad was carrying in that car seat and was so gentle and timid with touching her new brother.  It was cute to watch!

She did have a bit of a melt down after awhile though...it was past her nap time and she was a bit confused about why Mom couldn't pick her up and what was going on with the baby.  Thankfully she got her nap and they are all now working at trying to help her deal with not being the sole center of attention....overall I'd say it's going pretty well!  (You should hear the horror stories my parents tell of when my brother came home...I was not a happy camper to say the least!)

BLOG Erin Bassett - SS - Temp 3 Sept - Studio Calico

Again for this layout I used one of the Simple Scrapper September sketches.  Love those! It makes it so easy to get started.  I also the Studio Calico kit "Boardwalk" for 99% of the layout. I think the only thing that didn't come in the kit was the tiny staples and tissue tape LOL.
