{Sponsored Post} Go Where Love Grows

There are so many reasons why I love this piece created by Satchel & Sage for Uncommon Goods, one of my favorite places to get wall art! They have such an eclectic mix of art using all different mediums...like this one that is screenprinted wood:

Seriously cute, right?! I love the positive message of surrounding yourself with love, and if there is one place I want love to flourish is our home.

  Go where love grows2

Ever since I hung it up I can't stop looking at it as I pass it by. It not only reminds me of all the fun I had screen printing on wood way back when, but it is just so me! I love the natural look of the wood and the clean design of the art...it really just makes our house feel even more a part of our home. See more items for your home HERE.

Now Uncommon Good carries a whole lot more then just art. It's also a great place to shop for those hard to shop for people. You know, the ones how have everything, or are just plain picky. If I didn't love the scent of this candle so much I'd give it to one of my fellow book lovers with a gift card for a new book!

Speaking of gift giving, stay tuned because I am going to be whipping up some handmade gifts this Christmas! Let's be friends on social media so you can get a sneak peek at what I'm up to before I even blog about it!

Uncommon Goods was nice enough to send me some products to spice up my home this fall, so thank you to them for that. But, truth be told, I've loved Uncommon Goods for home decor and gift giving long before they showed my home or online home any love. They endeavor to feature unique designs and handcrafted gifts created in harmony with the environment and without harm to animals or people. They run all of their operations out of the historic Brooklyn Army Terminal, including their warehouse where the lowest-paid seasonal worker starts at 50% above the minimum wage. They make it their mission to support and provide a platform for artists and designers; in fact, half of what they sell is made by hand. Most of the products they carry are created right here in the USA, and about one-third of their entire collection incorporates recycled and/or upcycled materials. At the core of our company is a great respect for the integrity of the creative individual and the belief that it is their responsibility to use our business to impact the world in a positive way.  -It's no wonder I love them.  :)

Disclosure: Erin  has received  products from Uncommon Goods to evaluate. However, the opinions expressed are entirely her own and based on her use of the products.

CHA Summer 2010 (Plus a peek at new Yudu stuff!)

CHA Summer 2010 copy  The CHA trade show was a blast...it's always great to see the new product and to meet up with friends!

{Thanks Elena for the photo!}

I was mostly working in the ProvoCraft booth so I didn't see every little thing there was to see at other booths, but I did take my photo with Woody and Buzz!

While in the ProvoCraft booth I demo'd the new Cricut Imagine...let me tell you, I think it's a game changer!  It really is amazing!  To best describe it is to say it's part Cricut, part HP printer.  Here's what the color printer ink looks like:

ProvoCraft is also coming out with new Yudu stuff!  There's a new screen coming out that will allow you to use Yudu glue to screen print with glue and then apply glitter or sheets of foil or sheets of flock to it so that when it's ironed the glitter, foil, or flock will stick just to the glue and you'll end up with a fabulous design.  Here's some of the samples from the booth and a video of Kim showing how it works.   {Click on the photos to see them larger.}

National Scrapbook Weekend @ Remember When

RW-Logo-Final-2 So this weekend is the big Remember When scrapbooking extravaganza.  Saturday I did a Yudu screen printing make and take where I taught everyone how to screen print tote bags...the ladies really loved them and were excited to make them themselves (something that was WAY outside the box for some of them). Everyone did such a great job!!  Of course I was so busy I didn't have a chance to take any photos, so I'm going to have to ask around to see if anyone did.

There are so many awesome giveaways that the store is doing thanks to the generous donations of manufactures.  One of the things that everyone gets is a bunch of kits with sample layouts, sample cards and instructions that the design team created.  {Which, for the record was created with only what was in the kit and the basic scrapbooker's tool kit!  -Can you say "mucho Glossy/Crackle Accents and Sakura Stardust pen"???} Here's the samples I made with the kits I had to design with:

Yudu Screen Printed Girlfriend Bags

I had so much fun at the Reflections Event this past weekend.  It was great to make the time to hang out with my girlfriends for an extended weekend.  I'll be posting photos later in the week from our wonderful weekend, but for now I'll share with you a cute little bag I made for each of my friends.

Erin Bassett - Yudu - Cosmetic Bag I used my Yudu to add my friends names to the bags and then created a flower using my Cricut Expression and Cuttlebug and sprayed it with Glimmer Mist and Chalkboard Mist.

You can download free instructions on how to make this on the Mixology Crafts blog.
